Ray Klonsky is a multi-faceted storyteller and producer working across television, film, and digital.
His directorial debut feature documentary, Fight for Justice: David & Me, chronicled his decade-long friendship with New York State inmate David McCallum who was wrongfully convicted of murder when he was 16-years old. The film has screened around the world, won numerous awards, and was integral to Mr. McCallum’s exoneration after 29-years in prison. It has been optioned by Netflix and Amazon. He has also directed digital content for Samsung, AMEX, Ray Ban, Calvin Klein, and more. His short documentary, Breaking the Cycle, tells the story of a woman attempting to overcome a history of domestic violence and was released exclusively on Shondaland. His latest documentary short, The Corridor, about gorilla and land conservation in the eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo, is due to be released in 2023.
Ray has produced television series, episodic and branded digital content, podcasts and commercials for outlets and brands such as Google, Mastercard, Microsoft, Verizon, L'Oreal, ESPN Films, and The Cooking Channel. In 2016 he produced and directed music-based video content as the Senior Producer at Boiler Room North America, before serving as the Executive Producer of Craft Studios, McCann New York's internal production company. As a freelance producer, in 2020 he worked on Joe Biden’s presidential campaign and in 2022, produced hundreds of ads for the midterm election cycle, focussing predominantly on the all-important Pennsylvania senate race.
He sits on the junior board of the RIVER FUND, New York's largest poverty frontline center, where he has directed and produced video content for the past decade.
